We believe cost should never be a barrier to dental care. We're a registered CDCP provider, accept most insurance plans with direct billing, and offer flexible payment options to make your treatment affordable.
Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
The Port Dental Clinic is a registered Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) provider. The CDCP is a federal program designed to help eligible Canadian residents access dental care with reduced out-of-pocket costs.
Who Is Eligible?
The CDCP is available to eligible Canadian residents who:
- Have an adjusted family net income under $90,000
- Do not currently have access to dental insurance
- Are Canadian residents and have filed their tax return
What's Covered?
The CDCP covers a range of dental services including preventive care (exams, cleanings, X-rays), restorative services (fillings, root canals), and some prosthetic services. The level of coverage depends on your family income:
Under $70,000: No co-payment required (see note below)
$70,000 – $79,999: 40% co-payment
$80,000 – $89,999: 60% co-payment
Please note: the CDCP reimburses providers according to its own fee schedule, which may be lower than the Alberta Dental Association Fee Guide. Depending on the treatment, there may be additional costs not covered by the plan — even where no co-payment applies. We will always explain any out-of-pocket costs to you before treatment begins.
