If you’re in severe pain or have damaged teeth, don’t wait. These situations need immediate care:
Call us immediately if you have:
Severe toothache that won’t go away or keeps you up at night
Broken, cracked, or chipped tooth from an accident or injury
Knocked-out tooth (bring the tooth with you—we may be able to save it)
Lost filling or crown causing pain or sensitivity
Dental abscess (swelling, pus, or a bump on your gums)
Bleeding that won’t stop after a tooth extraction or injury
Jaw injury or pain that makes it hard to open or close your mouth
Object stuck between teeth that you can’t remove
Not sure if it’s an emergency? Call us anyway. We’d rather check and give you peace of mind than have you suffer at home.
Here’s what to do while you’re waiting for your appointment:
For a Knocked-Out Tooth:
Pick it up by the crown (the white part), not the root
Rinse it gently with water—don’t scrub it
Try to place it back in the socket if possible, or keep it in milk
Get to us within 30 minutes for the best chance of saving it
For a Severe Toothache:
Rinse your mouth with warm salt water
Take over-the-counter pain relief (ibuprofen or acetaminophen)
Apply a cold compress to your cheek to reduce swelling
Avoid chewing on that side
For a Broken or Chipped Tooth:
Save any pieces you can find
Rinse your mouth with warm water
Apply gauze if there’s bleeding
Use a cold compress to reduce swelling
For a Lost Filling or Crown:
Keep the crown if you have it
Avoid chewing on that tooth
