Different Types of Invisalign You Should Know About Before Getting One

Many people in Canada with teeth not properly aligned prefer Invisalign — transparent braces because of their convenience and anonymity compared to traditional metal braces. Many people haven’t heard of all the ways the Invisalign system may be used to address their dental issues.

Limited evidence shows that different types of Invisalign may be more successful for some disorders than others, but this has to be confirmed.

Although clear aligners may be effective in treating mild to moderate cases of malocclusion, such as the misalignment of a person’s arches, they may not be as effective in treating more severe cases of malocclusion.

Our Invisalign treatment in Calgary does not follow one-size-fits-all solution; rather, it uses very accurate measurements of the patient’s mouth and teeth to devise a custom plan to straighten the smile.

There are any different types of Invisalign available, and the one you obtain may depend on your lifestyle and/or financial situation. In most cases, Invisalign can fix issues including crossbites, overbites, underbites, gapped teeth, crowded teeth, and open bites, unless the situation is extremely difficult.

Invisalign Teen

Since growing teeth are a common problem among teenagers, Invisalign Teen aligners have change-indicator dots. People who are good candidates for this type of Invisalign may require assistance with straightening their teeth while making space for teeth that have not yet come in.

Invisalign Teen may be an option for teenagers even if they have class II malocclusions. Improved bite and facial aesthetics can be achieved because of the mandibular improvements made possible by this alignment method.

As an added convenience, the Invisalign Teen system is equipped with compliance indicator dots, letting your dentist in Calgary know whether or not their teen patients are wearing their aligners as often as prescribed.

Invisalign Express

Invisalign Express is an excellent option when just minor concerns need to be addressed. Invisalign is a form of orthodontic treatment in which our dentists provide a series of aligners to their patients to be worn for a total of around 6 months.

Invisalign Express requires using five to ten aligners to correct minor spacing issues or modest relapse after previous orthodontic treatment (whether the treatment failed or the patient failed to use their retainers).

Since there is less to fix, this type of Invisalign treatment method typically lasts between three and six months. Five aligners are provided to patients who qualify for Invisalign Express and are changed every two weeks. The final objective is to position the client’s teeth properly.

Invisalign Lite

Invisalign Lite is designed to address minor orthodontic difficulties and has a shorter treatment duration. This may involve some crowding, spacing, or alignment concerns, but they are generally minor to moderate in intensity. The treatment period is reduced from a year to roughly six or seven months, thanks to using a series of aligner trays (you’ll wear about 14 of them).

Before having more extensive cosmetic dental procedures like teeth whitening or porcelain veneers, some patients choose Invisalign Lite to fix minor issues and align their teeth.

Most patients with mild to moderate overcrowding and alignment issues are good candidates for this type Invisalign Lite’s six to seven-month treatment time. Invisalign Lite may be the best option if you already have a crown or just need to make small adjustments.

Invisalign Full

Our doctors will offer Invisalign Full if you have moderate to complicated tooth abnormalities that can still be treated without traditional metal braces. This intensive treatment can take up to 18 months, and aligners must be worn constantly to achieve the best outcomes.

Invisalign i7

Invisalign i7 is a speedier alternative to traditional orthodontic treatment, as it only requires seven aligner trays to correct minor misalignment.

Overcrowding is commonly treated with this type of Invisalign i7. Wear a series of seven aligners over three to six months to fix this minor orthodontic problem.

Invisalign i7, like its predecessor Invisalign Express, is a removable orthodontic appliance consisting of a series of aligners. Patients with minor alignment issues eager to complete therapy fast benefit greatly from this approach.

How does Invisalign help?

People who need extensive teeth correction or have a small palate may do better with conventional procedure to get Invisalign, which have improved in recent years to be more inconspicuous than in the past and are therefore a better option for them than Invisalign.

Concerns Invisalign may address, depending on the individual’s teeth:

  • Tooth gaps
  • Mild tooth crowding
  • Mild to moderate crossbite or overbite
